# Release Unstaked TRX After Cooldown Period Expires

> Release TRX that completed the Tron unstaking cooldown back to your available balance. You must call this endpoint explicitly — TRX does not auto-release.

After initiating an unstake via the [Unstake TRX](/api-reference/utilities/tron-unstake) endpoint and waiting for the Tron protocol's cooldown period to complete, your TRX is ready to be released back to your available wallet balance. Use this endpoint to execute the final step in the unstaking flow and make the TRX transferable again. You must call this endpoint explicitly — TRX does not automatically return to your balance when the cooldown expires.

### Body Parameters

  The Tron address from which you previously unstaked TRX and want to release the cooldown funds back to an available balance.

## Response

A `200` response confirms that the TRX has been successfully released and returned to the available balance of the specified address. A `400` response indicates the cooldown has not yet completed or no unstaked TRX is pending release for this address.

## The Full Tron Staking Lifecycle

    Call [POST /dav/v1/stake](/api-reference/utilities/tron-stake) to lock TRX and allocate ENERGY or BANDWIDTH to a Tron address.

    Your staked address benefits from reduced or zero-cost transactions for as long as the TRX remains staked.

  <Step title="Initiate unstaking">
    Call [POST /dav/v1/unstake](/api-reference/utilities/tron-unstake) to begin the cooldown period. Resources are released immediately but TRX is still locked.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Wait for cooldown">
    The Tron protocol enforces a cooldown period (typically around 14 days) before staked TRX can be withdrawn.

  <Step title="Release unstaked TRX">
    Once the cooldown completes, call this endpoint to return the TRX to your available balance.
