# Get Exchange Balance — POST /dac/v1/exchange-balance

> Fetch the current balances from a connected exchange account. Pass the exchange name in the request body to get a full asset breakdown.

Once you have connected an exchange account to your Finrock workspace, use this endpoint to fetch the current asset balances held on that exchange. Specify the exchange name in the request body and the API returns a breakdown of all asset balances available on the connected account, giving you real-time visibility without leaving the Finrock platform.

  The name of the connected exchange whose balance you want to retrieve. Must match one of the exchange names returned by the [List Exchange Accounts](/api-reference/exchanges/list-exchange-accounts) endpoint (e.g., `Binance`, `Coinbase`, `KuCoin`, `Okx`).

## Response

A `200` response returns the asset balances for the specified exchange account. A `400` response indicates that the exchange name is unrecognised or the account is not connected.

<Note>
  Balances reflect what Finrock last retrieved from the exchange. If you need the freshest data, call this endpoint immediately before initiating a transfer rather than relying on cached values.
